Ultra-Green Smoothie

Low sugar and extremely green with 2 cups of veggies per serving!

Energize your morning with a boost of alkaline greens! This ultra-green smoothie also provides a vitamin C boost from low-sugar citrus plus anti-inflammatory support from fresh ginger and cayenne pepper to help promote liver detoxification and radiant skin. Use organic ingredients whenever possible.

INGREDIENTS

2 Persian cucumbers (the small kind!), washed and chopped

1 or two kale leaves, chopped, stem removed

1 handful baby spinach

1/4 small avocado (about 2 Tbsps)

1/2 red grapefruit, peeled and seeded

1/2 fresh lime, peeled and seeded

1 or 2 slices ginger root, peeled

1 or 2 slices Thai red chili or 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon monk fruit powder or stevia to taste (optional)

1/4 to 1/2 cup water, or more if desired

STEPS

1. Prep all ingredients.

2. Add everything to blender with water on bottom, and process to combine. It will be very thick to start.

3. Pour thick smoothie into preferred glass, cup or mason jar. Then, add some more water to blender and whir to remove remaining smoothie from sides. Pour that into your preferred glass, too, and mix together.

5. If still too thick, add more water.

7. Adjust sweetener to taste if you are using.

6. Enjoy!

NOTES

Always remember to slowly sip and "chew" your smoothies! This is food and fiber in liquid form; it's not water. Food needs to be tasted and mixed with saliva in your mouth to be digested properly.

Ultimate way to enjoy this smoothie: with a glass straw! Highly recommended utensil for every smoothie lover. ♥︎
